In the heart of the bustling streets of New York City, the Frye Company's 6,000-square-foot flagship store is a testament to history and innovation. Designed by the renowned architectural firm AvroKO, the store showcases an exquisite blend of craftsmanship and industrial aesthetics, emphasising the brand's deep-rooted heritage. An essential component in creating these unique displays is Archant's Wovenpanel®, which adds a touch of artistry and ingenuity to the space.

When AvroKO sought to outfit the store's displays, they chose the Bromley Wovenpanel® in Brushed Brass. This exquisite choice involved wrapping the display shelves on three sides with plain crimp wire mesh, creating a captivating industrial quality. This choice pays homage to the building's history as a factory, all while exuding a brilliant lustre that harmonises perfectly with the vibrant colours of the store's interior and Frye's leather goods.

The Bromley Wovenpanel® boasts a thin, rounded weave with an open fill, giving it a simple and delicate appearance. Its minimal and uniform aesthetic makes it an ideal solution for various interior spaces, from prestigious restaurants and office buildings to functional homes. It can be employed as wall or staircase coverings, adding an artistic touch to any environment.

Greg Bradshaw, a partner at AvroKO, noted, "We thought this was the kind of space a skilled craftsperson would have built over 100 years ago, around the time the Frye Boot Company was created." The attention to detail and the commitment to blending history with modern aesthetics are evident throughout the store.

AvroKO, known for their appreciation of wire mesh's design possibilities, chose the Bromley pattern not only for its aesthetics but also for its practicality. The mesh provides an open sight line, allowing customers to view merchandise with ease, creating a shopping experience that's as visually appealing as it is functional.

The use of Wovenpanel® went beyond aesthetics; it also helped AvroKO in their pursuit of sustainability. The Frye store achieved LEED Platinum certification, thanks to the environmentally friendly characteristics of Wovenpanel®. Composed of 80 to 85 percent post-consumer and 13 to 18 percent pre-consumer recycled steel, it embodies a commitment to sustainability. Moreover, the manufacturing process was carried out with a minimal environmental impact, utilizing a low-energy, cold-forming process in a plant illuminated by natural daylight and energy-efficient lighting.

In conclusion, Archant's Wovenpanel® in Bromley Brushed Brass has played a pivotal role in transforming the Frye Company's flagship store into an artistic masterpiece in the heart of New York City. Its blend of history, innovation, and sustainability makes it an ideal choice for businesses that aspire to redefine their spaces with elegance and responsibility. With Wovenpanel®, you can not only design your interior but also create a masterpiece that tells a unique story.
