What are the attributes that upon viewing, create the impression of “great design”? At Archant, we believe this is largely determined by two qualities:
- The finished outcome should make the space more visually appealing.
- It will also increase the overall functionality and effectiveness of how the space is used.
This beautiful home in Auckland not only meets but far exceeds these goals in spectacular fashion. And while this residence was an expansive new build, each element is part of the cohesive vision.
When tackling a large project like this, it’s easy to lose sight of the smaller details. Yet, as most design experts will tell you, it’s the little things that help to complete the bigger picture. For example, elements like cabinet handles and sinks are some of the most used aspects of a kitchen. It was these two areas where our products were used to make an impact.
For starters, look at the sleek cabinetry in the kitchen. You’ll notice the clean and modern approach created by our negative detail extrusion handles. With no protruding elements, the feeling of sophistication and simplicity come to mind. Further accentuated by a modern black finish, the result is a streamlined area that’s ready for any culinary experience.
As a convenient addition, a selection of often-used drawers was fitted with the Marcella handle. At 480mm in length, these long handles provide ample space to pull and access the items inside. These are also selected in a black finish to match the extrusion handles.
To customise the tv unit in the kitchenette, our smaller 40mm Edge Straight handles were installed. These popular items have been a perennial favourite of customers around New Zealand for many years. Part of the appeal is their minimalist design. The black finish makes them an ideal solution for any part of a home, not just the kitchen.
While hardware is certainly important, it’s the sink that ultimately receives the most use. For family living, having ample space to clean and prep is not only desirable but essential to an efficient workflow. The undermounted Franke Bolero Box was the perfect fit for this task. Generously sized at 500 x 410mm, one can tackle large pots and pans with ease. Add to this the aesthetically pleasing design with curved corners and straight lines, and it’s clear to see why Franke is a leader in sink innovation.
