One of the most rewarding aspects of working at Archant is seeing the exciting ways our products are used to bring great design to life. Today we’re featuring a newly renovated residential kitchen in New Zealand. The space was thoughtfully designed by Nanda Rammers of Twin Rivers Interiors.
We loved how the impressive look of Marble Calacatta enhances the already generously sized centre island. With ample storage space conveniently nestled beneath, the brilliant surface is clean and free of clutter. This leaves plenty of work area for meal prep and entertaining. Gentle grey nuances adorn the stone, echoing the timeless appeal of the stainless-steel sink. The worktop is further complimented by the convenience of the shapely gooseneck tap, capable of accommodating even the largest cookware.
Gorgeous natural light spills through the windows to highlight other subtle details such as the cup handles, glass cabinet doors, and stylish splashback tiles. It’s these sometimes overlooked aspects of a design, that when viewed as a whole, bring a space together with beautiful and cohesive appeal.
The porcelain island, for example, offers a variety of methods to store items with easy access cabinets and drawers. Additional storage was created with shelving and pantries that seamlessly blend into the décor. It’s this functional side of outstanding design that pairs so well with the timeless quality of Marble Calacatta porcelain stoneware. With the stone’s background set in clean neutral tones, the meandering nature of marble-like veining brings a hint of dramatic flair while remaining understated.
We believe the result is a space that feels comfortable but also refined. A project that not only increases a home's value, but also boosts the aesthetic appeal and functionality makes this kitchen well worth highlighting.
